Maybe no one is wareing your shoes....Maybe !! We are called newbies for a reason... maybe some tenderizer will help your underside, Viagra for the middle and a good calis file for the bottom ?

Lightbulb Flathead 60 hp oil pan removal

I have a serious rear main oil seal leak on my 1937 60 hp flathead. Can it be repaired (new gaskets and seals) without pulling the motor? I am not sure even where to start! Anyone could shead some...

:confused: I am wondering why my 1937 ford gas tank had a heavy coiled spring with a cotter keyed bolt on one end of the tank. This bolt is used to secure the tank to the frame. Can anyone explain...

Be careful about to much heat on tank...a there is lot of leaded solderings in the tanks openings. That is true on my 37 la least. Mike

Tony you are right..... there are threads from the filler tube to the tank. I do not see how there would be enough room to unscrew the tube from the tank in the rear wheel well. any ways it out the...

Well.... There is no screw on flanges....only a one peice factory crimped on solid from tank to filler cap (not included). Boy this was ugly ..but i got it off.
The only way to remove the tank...

I am unable to screw out the spout...I almost had it out but the spout is the issue. Looks like I need to fill the tank with water and cut the spout its self. 50 years of working on old cars is not...

The filler spout looks to be a solid one piece with the gas tank. The filler spout about half way down looks to be some sort of a crimped flange so it can not come apart. mike
