Re: The Utility Bed
I got me one, made in 1957. Now I just need to decide if I want to put it on my '48 F1, or find a '50's truck to be more period correct.

I'm not on here very much, but it's great to still have good folks around contributing their knowledge. Thanks, and Happy New Year!

Re: tonner and up frame dimensions?
I just want to thank expavr here on the barn, for going out of his way to send me the diagrams I was looking for. They'll work great.
Thanks!

tonner and up frame dimensions?
HI all, I can easily find all the chassis diagrams and such for the half tons and cars, but what about the bigger trucks?
Anyone got any, or have a link to them?
Thanks, havi

Re: ignition problem
OK, thanks. Hopefully that's all it is. I did hit it real quick with a points file before cranking it, but didn't really look that closely. This thing sat outside for a few years before I got it,...

Re: ignition problem
1948 Tudor sedan. Light stays on from both terminals. I'll have to wait until tomorrow to recheck the points. Maybe they're stuck open.
Thanks Mike for checklist.
I just noticed I'm in the...

Re: ignition problem
Hope ya don't mind me piggybacking this thread, but I just tried to fire an old flathead 6 today for the first time. It's a rolling chassis, where the wires are there, but cut where they met the...

Re: Minnesota Title??? how tough
I should mention she is not a full fledged DMV office, but more of a licensing agent. But she's a lot easier to talk to, to get answers to any questions, IMO.

Re: Minnesota Title??? how tough
4 photos, 1 of each side. Maybe take a pic of the serial number on the frame to be safe. A bond is probable, and costs around $300.... may have gone up since then. No inspection needed up here, I...

Re: Anyone running a 3.25 ratio rear?
Had a 3.25:1 9" rear in a '74 F100 w/3sp and 302..... it hauled pretty good! the 9" has some parasitic HP loss, but a built flatty like yours should be no problem to overcome that. However, the...

Re: New to forum 49 ford f1
certain toyota 4x4 steering boxes will be an easy power steering "upgrade", but keeping the flathead means finding a way to adapt a power steering pump to the pulley/belt system.

Re: New to forum 49 ford f1
Be patient, and pay attention to the road. Old cars and trucks have a tendency to make the driver really learn the road, IMO, compared to new cars and trucks. You'll need to anticipate when to...
