100IH - Yes, Thanks! I get it! V8 folks have the same issue. That's why I asked the question - I just didn't know how to do the side mount. With the side mount I should be able to leave clutch and...

Re: Engine install with transmission

Install the new tranny first. I have just finished watching the excellent DVD by Diablo A's on removing and replacing engines. They left the tranny in place and it seemed to go very well. I recommend...

Re: What's the latest you can remember anyone using an A?

I drove a '30 Tudor as a daily driver when I was in the Navy stationed in Newport, RI from '64 until '69.

Re: Back in the day!!

Long gone!! I sold it when I entered the Naval Academy in 1960. But then I bought another just like it when I graduated. I drove it to work for five years when I was stationed on two different...

Back in the day!!

Here's a picture of me with my '30 Tudor in Dam Neck, VA in 1958. I drove the car down from MA and then back when I finished school. Lots of stories to tell!!

Shock fluid/oil

I just bought a set of rebuilt shocks at a fair price. They do not say "Houdaille" on them and the rebuilder says they are repops from maybe the 70's. Made in Chicago. He says he used 80/90 wt. gear...

Re: Bolt confusion

Thanks for the heads up on Roy Nacewicz!! He's been the go-to guy for V8 folks for many years - I didn't realize he did Model A's also. They are great guys and run a top-notch outfit!

Re: 30w oil

I agree with Synchro909. Oils today are so much better than in 1930 that anything would be better. We shouldn't get all wrapped around recommendations from 1930. They were fine for the technology of...
