Re: A hopeful solution to a '47 problem

Those carbs are very simple. I would guess that if you had that much sediment or rust in the line that something was clogged. A carb fixed the problem, so the carb was the problem. If you don’t...

Re: New Babbitt Mains - How Tight

Regarding not wanting to go back to the original rebuilder: if I rebuilt it, no matter how far out of warranty it is, I would prefer you to bring it back. Under the circumstances you have outlined,...

8 volt battery

I was asked to get a 1947 Mercury started. Instead of a six volt battery, it had an eight volt. Does that effectively change anything, or should I get a six?

Re: 1929 Rear hub Removal

There is a tool that is designed to square up your brakes before you install the drum. I’ve got the only one I have ever seen. I don’t know what it is called. I would post a picture if I could.

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway/ Skyline Drive

Seriously? You would do that to a fellow fordbarn member? I used to date the babysitter of the owner of the TT back in the 1970s. One of the filthiest houses I have ever been in. The “restaurant...

Re: Antique car and parts auction Oct 27-29 Lynchburg Va.

I will quote my recent experiences as a seller and say that unless it is junk that I don’t want, I would not use an auction service. That same car that sells for $10,000 that with the premium cost...

Re: Blue Ridge Parkway/ Skyline Drive

You will find the Parkway closed from Bent Mountain in Roanoke County to where it crosses 460. It has been closed for quite a while. I don’t know why. So plan on passing through Roanoke. Roanoke...
