Re: The Passing of John Kluttz
So sorry to hear. I've known John & Julie for over 50 years. We would work together for hours every weekend when he first started rebuilding engines and pouring his own babbit. "Loaned" him my KR...

Re: Drag Link Lengthening Advice
The shortened pitman arm does NOT change the turning radius. The smallest turning radius is determined by the stops on the back of the spindles hitting the heads on the king pin retaining bolt nuts....

Re: Continued Starting Issues
Tell us more - you're not getting carbon buildup without combustion - normally from a rich gas mixture or weak ignition. Are you running an air filter restricting air flow? Is this a starting...

Re: Turn signals and BrakeLighter
The electonic flasher will flash at the same rate, independent of the load. Use with either or a combination of LED and Incandescent bulbs

Re: Newbie Question
Be cautious of people selling NOS parts. Many "sellers" especially ebay, have no idea what they are selling, and will list reproduction and/or used parts as NOS. They also have little knowledge of...

Re: My New Model A - Yeah!
Congrats - Looks like it just needs a little buffing!. Judging from the videos, this car has had it's interior replaced, and likely not original paint. Shocks are not original - they appear to be...

Re: overtight axle nuts
Watch this Youtube video and you can fix it this way. I have done one of my axles years ago like this and have had no trouble with it. Be certain to only use new Grade 8 hardened nuts (avail from...

Re: Mysterious LED turn signal problem
Electrical Noise is likely interfering with the electronic 6v flasher relay. You might be able to "filter" some of the noise with a capacitor, or another brand flasher may work better.

Re: 1931 82B Model A Pick Up
Mine mounts the same as Katy's in post 8.
I don't believe the Bratton's listing is correct for a late 31 Budd pickup. (post 7)
Bracket should look like the attached photo. (I did not look up that...

Please don't start cutting your rods. It shouldn't be necessary and you would be compensating for the real problem.
The throttle linkage is a fairly straightforward mechanism. As previously...

Re: confused
Does the horn blow and lights work? There may be a fuse (typically mounted on the starter) that could have been removed while the car was sitting or for transport. It would allow the engine to...

Re: Amp gauge HELP!
Check the voltage cutout and generator. I believe you will find your problem. You said your "bumped" your voltage cutout and it sparked. That's a problem. If it is the newer diode style, bumping...

Re: Shortened pitman
Shortened arm does not affect turn radius... It only takes slightly more revolutions of the steering wheel to reach the end stops.

Re: Do I need extra shims on main bearings?
I find it hard to believe that more shims would be required now than when it was originally rebuilt. I would go back thru the steps of checking each bearing clearance. Look carefully for rust,...
