Fender Paint

Don’t consider myself a particularly clever chap but do want to share a small trick that worked very well for me today. After painting the underside of a front fender was having trouble figuring how to hold it in such a way as to not scratch the bottom while painting the topside. Came up with a piece of wood stick/screw/washer through the headlight bar hole and block of wood under front inner edge of fender. Allowed me to get to all areas with gun without having to handle the fender.

The table is an old BBQ stand with wood slats mounted to top. Keeps things at waist height and great for rolling around garage/driveway for sanding/painting etc.

Neat idea, but more importantly, the paint looks great!

What kind of paint are you using? How easy is it to use?
Thanks

PPG Concept 9300 .. last time i painted was 20+ years ago and that was with acrylic lacquer .. very forgiving ... this requires the standard reducer and a catalyst ... once i got the hang of it it seems to handle pretty much like lacquer did. what i dislike the most is short pot life (~90") where lacquer would keep mixed indefiniately ... i always seem to have some left over ($$$)

Very nice looking paint job. Thanks for sharing the idea of the stiff leg bolted through the headlight bar hole. I am about 2 weeks out of being there myself.

Very nice looking fender. 9300 flows pretty good. just not too much at one time. Sands out well. Nice job ,good luck with the body..

If you ever sanded one of these fenders you know what a neat idea this is, first time i sanded one its was like trying to sand a ball it rolled ever where, great idea, this gives new meaning to bake on finished
