1928 Pickup Bed Will a 1928 Pickup bed fit on a 1929 Chassis?
|
Re: 1928 Pickup Bed Yes.

Re: 1928 Pickup Bed Not only that, it will fit on a 30 31 frame as well. Most people get the 26 27 model T pick up box confused with the A's. Do you know for sure yours is a Model A box??

Re: 1928 Pickup Bed some of the very early p/u beds mounted differently than the later style. in my case (1/28) the body subrails continue out from the cab and extend over the rear frame crossmember. this bed is slightly longer than the later style and its lower rails are stamped to fit directly over these body subrails .. i believe the later version (i don't know start date) mounts to wood stretchers and then to the frame.

Re: 1928 Pickup Bed Guys,
Thanks for responding. What I have is a Model A Chassis, that much I'm sure of. The pick up bed I have looks like the box on 28 A's in photos I've looked at. It has a "L" bracket on each side on the bottom front that doesn't line up with the frame. The comment that the subrails used to extend might be my problem, as the cab I have ends at the back of the cab. I'm assuming I can mount this somehow, just didn't know if there was a trick. GP |
Re: 1928 Pickup Bed It sounds like you are missing the wood subrails under the pickup bed. Those L brackets don't line up with anything.

Re: 1928 Pickup Bed 1 Attachment(s)
i agree with Mr. True .... you have the later bed and will need the long wood blocks ... major vendors have these
