Brass GAV Seat Question I have an older Zenith carb with the brass GAV seat. When I first got the car, the GAV dial inside the car would point straight up when it was fully closed. After I had a fellow club member rebuild the carb, it no longer does. It now points toward the 2 o'clock position when closed.
I found that if I screw the seat out about 3/4 turn, I can bring the dial back to the 12 o'clock position when closed. My first question is, am I being too nit picky? And my second question is, am I going to create problems by not having the seat tight? Is there a better way to line it back up or should I not worry about it? Thanks for you help. |
Re: Brass GAV Seat Question he may have replaced the seat with a new one
it may be a different height or he may have replaced the needle valve with a new one maybe the old one was scored and worn out ask him |

Re: Brass GAV Seat Question My GAV seats at 7 o'clock, it doesn't matter where, as long as it does.

Re: Brass GAV Seat Question Well, I figured I was being too nit picky, but I like things to look right if at all possible. I guess I better screw the seat back in tight and not worry about how it looks.
Thanks for your replies. |
