Position of Rumble step on fender I'm about to install the rumble step of the fender of my 68-C. To my eye it looks like the step should be lined up with the center-line of the wheel and about 4.5 inches from the rear quarter panel to the center of the bolt hole. I would appreciate it if you guys could let me know if that's about right before I take the drill to it. Thanks

Re: Position of Rumble step on fender LeRoy,
Thanks but I only have Volume 6. There is a good picture of the fender step on a 68-C on page 132. That's what I used for my eye ball guess. |

Put the fender on the car and make sure to mark the dead top. No matter what dimensions, people send you, if it's cockeyed, it's going to be cockeyed ! MIKE :) |
Re: Position of Rumble step on fender Thanks Mike. I did exactly that. It's right in the center to my eye.

Re: Position of Rumble step on fender I did my Albrect repro fender on my 68C. There were dimensions in one of the books which kind of ball parked the position. I had to move the step plate towards the middle of the body some to get it to the flat portion of the fender. The step plate must lay flat all around. I also stepped back and made sure it looked right.
