Engine Fan Repair I have a question about the feasability of repairing the engine fan. In cleaning parts removed from the old engine I found that the fan had corrosion on the inside surface of one of the blades. After removing the rust I found that the blade itself is hollow. I thought of repairing it with JB Weld but I have some concern about balance (The damaged area is about 1 '' X 1/4 ''). Not being familiar with the Model A engine I am wondering if balance would be a significant concern.
Thanks in advance for your thoughts/help Bob |
Re: Engine Fan Repair Don't even think about it. Replace it with one of the aluminum ones available from the vendors. Reason: it could separate at any time, taking out the radiator, hood sides, you or a loved one if standing nearby IF it decides to "blow" apart. Do a search for other people's experiences and photos.
I'm sure others will chime in on your question. Paul in CT |
Re: Engine Fan Repair What ever you do Listen to Paul. Do not attempt any repairs. It is junk.

Re: Engine Fan Repair 1 Attachment(s)
This is what it will look like if you keep running it. The other
piece will be in your hood or radiator. |
