Vacuum Advance Fitting

1 Attachment(s)
I have not been able to get the vacuum advance on my '56 Y-block 292 to seal at the distributor diaphragm end. I'm pretty sure that it's the fitting at the that's buggered up. It looks similar to a brake line fitting but smaller. Threads are 3/8-24. I've combed the parts store but they all seemed mystified by it. I know that I don't have a flair tool that I could use on it so I'd need to find one that has the line already fitted to it. Can anyone suggest where to look? I've hopefully attached a photo of the fitting but can't be sure.

Thanks, Tom

Re: Vacuum Advance Fitting

That is a fitting that Ford used in all its vacuum connections , at least in the early to mid 50's. It is commonly called a Ford fitting if I remember correctly. CASCO shows the fitting in their catalog. # 35112S - Fitting Vac Adv Line at vacuum advance. Most likely the other old car parts people have it. CASCO also sells vacuum lines with that fitting included.

Paul, thank you so much! I hadn't run across CASCO before now and it opens up a whole world for me. Much appreciated!!!
