LED Headlight Bulbs Question
 

Has anyone tried the new LED headlight shown as "A" below?
I already have the one shown as "B" below.

I do a lot of night driving, coming back from car shows here in Florida and the LED bulbs (B) that I have work OK, but are no able to be focused.

I am interested in the new focusable ones (A), but would like some pros and cons from FordBarners who have experience using them. Don't want to spend the big bucks unless they get a high rating.

I have bought 12 of them.four sets for myself,and two pair for others.I would throw rocks at the others now.They do take a bit of education.When they say,focus,they really mean leveling.That lamp puts out the beam with a definite straight top line,or border.You loosen the screw in it and twist it to level the beam.Allowas for crooked headlight positions.They don't 'focus',as the old bulbs had to because they don't use the reflector for anything but a holder.They don't catch the light particles and bounce them out the front in the correct direction.Their beams are already focused to send out the front.You DO have to aim them correctly though,and if you try to aim them at the wall at the height you would have with the old ones,you will blind people.You can't aim space age lamps using oxcart methods.The inspection stations here have to have the machines for aiming LED lights.I went to a friends garage and aimed mine with his machine.Then I shined them on my garage wall where I have been aiming truck lights for over 40 years,and has lines and crosses marked all over it.The correctly aimed lights on all my A's hit that wall at about knee height.Correctly aimed you will not blind people on low beam,but high beam is another story.You WILL learn to pay attention to your beams,the cops WILL remind you.I do know a couple of guys that are using the flat ones,and like them,but that's because they are cheaper than me and I gave the lamps to them.

I have them. They work as advertised. Big improvement over the earlier led bulbs that replaced the incandescents. Being focused you don’t need the polished reflectors. Your rusty reflectors work fine with them.

just make sure you have perfect electrical connections, otherwise they start flickering which drove me mad

Paul Shinn's video convinced me that the LogoLite's bulbs are the way to go.

I have 3 sets of Logo Lites and wouldn't use anything else. Definitely an improvement! One other good thing to note, if you're still using an original generator, with the LEDs you should be able to adjust the output down some.

Another happy Logolite user here. The first set I bought a couple of years ago for my Roadster. They came in a box with the Logo Lite marking. The most recent set, for my newly acquired Fordor, did not have the Logo Lite markings and no instructions. The units themselves appear identical and work great.
One other benefit: they draw so little current the ammeter barely moves when they’re turned on, compared to the big deflection using incandescent lamps.

Without getting super technical, the basic difference between an LED lamp versus an incandescent is the light emitted by the LED is very directional whereas the emitted light from an incandescent lamp is random. The original parabolic reflectors were shaped to reflect and focus some of the light emitted by the lamp. As noted in previous posts the relectors are not needed when using LED lamps.

Add to this- The reflectors are not needed when using the pre-focused LED lamps. If you use the other style of LED lamps, the reflectors are vital.

I can confirm that this is the same item I bought to see if they were identical to the Model A suppliers. Slightly different box but same exact part and brand. Get the 5000k; even though it's not the same color as incandescent the other ones are like the old French yellow headlights.

Thank you to all who responded. My order from LogoLites is coming in today and I will be putting them in and adjusting the levels. Can't wait to see the difference on the road.

I got B, and while they do heavily reduce the amount of amps i use, i dont see any difference between normal and bright lights.
so i feel like i just wasted money, honeslty.

I originally bought the B. I liked them much better than 32/50 bulbs. I then bought the A's and liked them much better than the B.

FYI- Tina Shinn ("Model T") will be doing a seminar all about the various types of LED lights for the Model A's at the MAFCA NCRG Roundup meet this month. Some of her props and examples are amazing. Girl definitely knows her Model A lights!

I bought the A style lamp (I have not been able to install them yet due to a health problem) purely because of a video by PS (Thank You Paul Shinn!!!).

I installed the "A" LED variation. They work fine and testing them via the original aiming spec (shown in various books), they seem fine. I have not driven after dark...yet!
