1932 Ford rear crossmember rivets

Hi. I'm wondering what size rivets were used on the 32 Ford rear crossmember and who sells them. Any help on this is appreciated.

Thanks!

Precision Coachworks in Billerica, MA used to be the "go to" for this sort of thing. Unfortunately, they have been out of business for quite a while. I have heard the Joe's Auto Parts has taken over part of that business. You may want to check with them.

You could also use Allen socket head capscrews as I suggested in the other thread.

Heat them up red hot and drive them with a proper rivet set and 5X gun or larger. You can use a hammer but it takes longer and the hammer work has to be precise. It takes two people to do this type of work. The largest bucking bar you can find or make is advised.

Thank you guys so much for your help with this. Any advice on making the rivet set and bucking bars?

Re: 1932 Ford rear crossmember rivets

Sets are available from model A sources. A big chunck of steel is the best bucking bar. Maybe a big hammer head.
