`42-48 crabby distrib Repairing a crab cap distrib and the first thing I spotted under the cap was the broken copper connector between the 2 points and the brass post for the hot wire. This is made from .010 copper sheet. Not impossible to find but to replace the rivets etc and insulation seems excessive. Anyone have an easier cure?

The copper strips are part of the points assembly.
The brass post can be repaired. I had a very short stub left on one of mine. I used a coupler and a brass stud to fix it. https://i.ebayimg.com/images/g/wvcAA...p/s-l1600.webp |
Re: `42-48 crabby distrib Thanks Glen. Actually my points are like shown but a separate copper strip, is sandwiched on the brass post with 2 tails, one to each point set. The brass post I am referring to, is the one attached with rivets to the contact mounting plate. The pic you sent is a great repair to the hot lead post. The hot lead post screws into the distrib and has a spring loaded contact that feeds power to the brass post which contains the copper strip.
