35 vaporlock having trouble with what I think is vaporlock. What are people using to plug the heat holes in the intake manifold?
I do have old original coil and condenser, that could be the problam |
Re: 35 vaporlock Ed Smith used freeze plugs in the block on my engine. No real need for vaporization on Arizona cars.

Re: 35 vaporlock I'm glad you added that last. I believe "vapor lock" has become a generalized term to cover a vast number of ignition problems. You seem to already know that your ignition system is not "up to snuff", so why not do something about that before chasing ghosts?

Re: 35 vaporlock I have an incorrect 37 intake on it now, putting the correct intake it now. thought I should plug the holes. Distributer will be sent off this winter

Re: 35 vaporlock We don't know where Mr. "drezin" lives. Since he mentions "winter" in one of his posts, I don't imagine it's in the Magnolia Belt. Perhaps plugging the heat risers is not the best idea, especially with a weak coil and condenser. It will probably lead to eliminating "heat soak" in exchange for "carb icing".
