I bought this Stromberg at the Hershey swap meet and I have no idea what this is that’s mounted on it.

Just a wild ass guess but a fitting for a gas heater? But I'm sure others will know for sure.

I was thinking the same, Southwind heater.

That is the Stromberg specific fuel siphon for a Southwind. The fitting is probably as valuable as the carb.

Is that sheet metal shield in front of the accelerator pump a standard Southwind part? Looks like a desirable safety feature to me, and probably harder to find than the fuel siphon.

Tubs, the bracket appears to be supporting the top part of the syphon device. So as such, it must be a southwind part.

Part of the mounting bracket. Not sure if it has another purpose though.

I have that same setup that came to me on a 94. Usually see a hole drilled in air horn above fuel bowl for a pickup tube. It has a special jet plug for fuel to be siphoned.

Re: What is this on this Stromberg carburetor?

The extra hole in the top of many old carbs was drilled because they used the “universal” siphon kit.

Here is the set up I discovered on my Southwind equipped car the day I brought it home. I removed all that plumbing and run with no heater. The Southwind still resides in the car, but it is not hooked up.
