Stipe shocks

I'm interested in a set of these shocks, but finding info on them is difficult. Has anyone actually bought a set in the last year or so? If so, how did you do it?

When I bought mine a few years ago, you would place an order. And then when they had received enough orders, they would do a production run, and then ship them out. My wait time was around four months from memory

I got mine 2 years ago. Waited just about a year and was 18 on the list when I ordered. They work fine and I'm pleased to have them.
I understand that the shop is now moved from Wisconsin to, I think, Kentucky and is being run by the son. I have no contact information but I'm sure someone will pipe up or you can find them on the internet. Bill

Whatever the time table is, Stipe shocks are worth the money and the wait. I had them on my (now sold);coupe. They are/ were first rate!

I bought a set and they are great. Expensive.

Re: Stipe shocks

I have several matched sets of original shocks, professionally rebuilt by J Holland and tested and equalized by me on an original KR Wilson bench tester. I have also tested and compared Stipe shocks. Guaranteed. Not inexpensive! Call me if interested at 509-220-4346.

Mine are not tested by the KR Wilson tester, but rebuilt, matched originals. Holland mentioned recently he is not taking any more orders.(925)872-3639.

Re: Stipe shocks

Thank you to all who responded. I'd like to try the Stipe shocks. I actually have a set of Hollands shocks on hand, along with another set done by Louie Trink years ago. Both are awaiting future restoration projects. Just wanted to try the Stipes and compare them to the originals I have on all my cars.

Please let us know if you are successful getting an order. Stipe has been somewhat non-responsive for several years while they worked out some internal issues.

So far every email address and phone # I have for Stipe has come up "tilt". Maybe they are in the Witness Protection Program? Seems like they have vanished.

I have been told that you can contact Bill on facebook.

I can not tell you how that works because I do not do facebook.

I do not need another corporation spying on everything that I do!

While we are talking Stipe shocks, does anyone know what type and weight oil is in them?

I wish my Stipe Shocks came with a parts break down and fluid type.

Re: Stipe shocks

Boy, what a coincidence. I posted on this forum in 2013 about my Bill Stipe shocks. This week I was fretting as I couldn’t recall what fluid/oil to use in them or other details, and I couldn’t find any instructions!!
Bam! Oil details and a copy of the instructions. Thank you so much!
