30-31 Cowl Patch Panel

Does anyone know where I can find cowl patch panels 6 or 8"tall that replace the whole length ( front to back ) of the bottom of the cowl? All of the patch panels I can find don't have the front 2 inches where the " J " clips for the cowl lacing hook.
Thank you in advance
Ken

Part # A-014-BD Model Year 30-31

Have you looked to the vendors? The above is from Snyder’s online catalogue
Most others carry them. Not sure/don’t think they are 8” but height can be added easier that the profiles. There are full cowl panels made by Brookville. What body style are you repairing?
To go that high cowl must be in trouble.

Stipe used to make some very nice ones, full length with cowl band holes, matching bead. Ouarter panels match bead.

Thank you for responding.
I am working on a 1930 pickup. If I could replace the bottom 6 inches i would be happy.
I had forgotten about Sniders. Theirs are the front 2 inches either.
I may have to find the cash for the full length ones.

You are correct about the front 2”..no one making that.
I’d bet someone on here has a rotten cowl that the pieces you need can be cannibalized from. I currently do not have such around here.
Then they could be spliced to repop metal.

Thank you Dale G.
I looked in google for Stipe, but did not find anything.
Where would I find Stipe full length, or patch panels?
Are they the ones that Brookville sells?

Re: 30-31 Cowl Patch Panel

Generally the front 2" does not rot out . The front 2" is a complex pressing and difficult connection so I leave this piece in situ and make a vertical cut behind it . I do not use the full patch panel height and cut back to the good cowl panel . The lower area is more stiff so easy to set the right curve . An easy fix not complicated .

Thank you John.
My Front 2" is damaged, and rusty on both sides. I may have to find a cowl that I can cannibalized.

Many vendors sell Stipe panels…..unless they’re out.
The link I posted with Snyder’s is his I think.
You can call and the vendor will tell you if they are his.

Very close to original but as with most all patches they must be fitted to your body panel.....
Try Bert’s Model A
