Which throw out bearing for 1961 Galaxie T85 This is for a 1961 Galaxie Sunliner 292 w/ T-85; I assume it's a std duty clutch. I believe the clutch has low miles. We're getting some squeak from the clutch area that goes away when the clutch pedal is depressed. This car sat for years and I suspect the bearing has dried up.
Rock Auto is giving me some visually different throw out bearings for our application. I need help zeroing in on one. (note: I've never bought a "self aligning" throwout bearing. Not sure if that's just a preference thing or not.) The part description for the below image says: "Bearing Assembly Thrust Type; with Standard Duty Clutch; Thru 10 inch disc" https://www.rockauto.com/info/13/NNT..._FRO__ra_p.jpg This next one says: " Bearing Assembly Sealed Self-Aligning; with Standard Duty Clutch; Thru 10 inch Disc" https://www.rockauto.com/info/13/NNT..._FRO__ra_p.jpg Next one says: "Bearing Only; with Standard Duty Clutch; Thru 10 inch Disc" https://www.rockauto.com/info/13/NNT..._FRO__ra_p.jpg Last one: "Assembly; Standard Clutch" https://www.rockauto.com/info/196/N1444-1__ra_p.jpg Recommendation? EDIT: Image 2 and 4 seem to be the same part. Is image 1 the same (or a minor variant of) as 2 & 4? |
Re: Which throw out bearing for 1961 Galaxie T85 the last one is the one you need..the one above that is bearing only you use your old holder.

Re: Which throw out bearing for 1961 Galaxie T85 You need to check your pilot bearing too. If it squeaks in neutral, it could also have a problem with the input bearing or the bearing that fits inside the input shaft at the rear. Counter shaft bearings could also have problems.
If your throw out hub is good then a person can just replace the bearing on the hub. That's your third photo as was mentioned. |
