Pcv on 1955 272 engine Guys...I am thinking about removing the road draft tube and installing a PCV setup on my 55 sedan with a 272 engine.
After a drive my garage always smells of oil. Any recommendations on which PCV valve to use and how best to hook it up ? |

Re: Pcv on 1955 272 engine You can laugh if you want to, but I always save old socks that have developed a hole in the heel and I just cut off the top part of the sock and slip it over the road draft tube so that the toe end is about one inch below the bottom of the tube. The sock is held in place with a zip tie around the tube
The sock catches what little oil drippage there might be and also seems to filter out the worst of the smoke. I change the sock as needed when I happen to be doing an oil change as they do get pretty nasty over time. |
Re: Pcv on 1955 272 engine Hi, I'm having the same issue on my 272, it already has a PCV valve. But, I think it's allowing oil to get sucked into the manifold and it's burning it. The valve number is CV-726C. Very rare and expensive. Have you found a replacement valve that works? If so,I would like to get the part number, if you could help me out.
Thanks. |
