Exhaust Mounted Engine Stand Have just got one of these engine stands. But need to make an adaptor for a side mount at exhaust. 91 A block. Somewhere I recall reading that the bracket is angled at 45 degrees to horizontal pivot on stand.
Am I right. Phil NZ |
Re: Exhaust Mounted Engine Stand Yep you got it right.
Piece of flatiron use a exhaust manifold as drill pattern. |
Re: Exhaust Mounted Engine Stand 4 Attachment(s)
One way to do it is with a section of angle and a flat plate. Here are some examples.

Thanks J Serry. Thats another option with the angle iron for added strength. Phil NZ |
Re: Exhaust Mounted Engine Stand 1 Attachment(s)
Or if you like your woodwork, you could build one of these, as one of our enterprising 84 year old members did. It worked perfectly and so far he has assembled two engines on it. He does admit that the cutouts for the exhausts were not necessary .
What you can achieve with a bit of ingenuity! |
Re: Exhaust Mounted Engine Stand 1 Attachment(s)
I fab'd one so that it would bolt to my existing plate on the stand vs to a piece of tubing.
