Removing ignition switch on F1 I need to remove the ignition switch on my 1950 Ford F1. I have looked it over and see no pins to push or pull nor nuts or bolts to loosen. How does this thing come out?? Google, you tube, nor other forums have any advice on it's removal. Can any one out there set me on the right trail to a solution??

Re: Removing ignition switch on F1 If I'm not mistaken it comes out the same as a '50 Merc.
Push the switch from under the dash towards the rear of the truck (it is spring loaded) Then rotate the bezel to disengage. |
Re: Removing ignition switch on F1 I concur. I think I recall that was the operation.
There is absolutely no direction outlined on the web. (I discovered that truth when I went to remove my F-1 switch a few months back) |
Re: Removing ignition switch on F1 Snap off the bezel and then push the switch against the spring and turn to free the bayonet attachment scheme.

Re: Removing ignition switch on F1 Got it out! Pry off bezel, turn ignition switch 1/8 turn clockwise (as seated behind the wheel).

Re: Removing ignition switch on F1 Good evening…thank you all for the information, as V12Bill stated there is nothing out there on info to remove. I’ve been searching all day non stop. Finally, came across this thread and here’s the info. I appreciate it very much. 1950 Mercury. Stay safe, blessed, and be well.
