Dome light 1936 Fordor

Hi community,

The dome light doesn't work (haven't checked the bulb yet). :-)

Just general... is there a switch to turn it on, can't find one at
the ceiling or does the light switch on with a door opening ?

Yeah I know... stupid question, I confess it it easier to ask
the experts than reading through the manual with a dictionary
on my knees.

Happy Weekend!

Is there a switch in the door pillar?

I looked it up but NO.... I assume that former owner put a new ceiling in and
side panels and but did not reconnect the light or put the
switch back in.

Right between the B pillar and the ceiling I can feel something that seems
to be a lose cable :-(

Probably something to sort out later.
Appreciate your help.

Bernd

On your Avatar??? & not a Coupe?? Switch is in the middle of the upper part of the passenger side (RH) B pillar. you may be able to feel where the switch should be if the backing for the upholstery has the hole in it. I suggest you get the V8 Club restoration book, on p.46 is a photo.

The routing diagrams are not exact, but might give you the basic location.

On my 36 tudor, fairly stock, the switch is on the light fixture itself. It is a pull down -push up knob that screws into the fixture.

Easier fix might be to use a Dome light from a Coupe (35 or 36) which has the switch built into the assembly. Not factory, but practical.
