hartd to start when warm My 1941 starts great when cold, but hard to start when warm......also stalls when warm or no power. Where do I start to correct this problem ?
Re: hartd to start when warm Sounds like ignition. I'd start with easy stuff like condenser and coil.
Re: hartd to start when warm Yep, condensor/coil would be one of the first suspects.
Re: hartd to start when warm Same symptoms..............was coil!!
Re: hartd to start when warm The first and easiest thing would be to bypass the resistor.
Re: hartd to start when warm Send coil to Skip, works for me!! Especially if it has unknown history.
Re: hartd to start when warm As everyone has said. Get that coil up to speed with Skip and it will provide you with a nice blue spark at the plug. Your coil could be breaking down as it heats up.

Re: hartd to start when warm Given that the OP is a new member with two posts to his credit, perhaps we could tell him a little more identifying information about who "Skip" is. (Skip Haney) :) Sorry, I don't have Skip's contact information, or I would post it.
In my short time on this excellent and generally very helpful forum, I've noticed a tendency to refer people to "Skip" (coil or water pump) or "Charlie" (carb) or "Bubba" (distributor) without giving any more details for them to go on. |

Re: hartd to start when warm Same problem on my '41 with 59A/B engine. Would not start when hot, due to weak spark. It was the coil. Went to Pertronix ignition when I converted the car to 12volt. No more problems starting, except when I flood it.
