HELP lifting my 47 hood >>

Because of my ALS I'm loosing the strength in my arms & SHEBA's hood is heavy.
Has any body installed Hood struts to help lift the hood on a 47 before?

How are your springs? my 48 raises easy. I think I put new springs on it when I put it together. almost 20 years ago now. Can't answer your question about the struts. It shouldn't be to hard to do though.

As mentioned the one Speedway has looks like it may reduce the lifting effort needed,

On my 41 I pull it out toward the front and it seems to engage the springs better and when closing, I work it down pushing back and side to side

This is what I was doing up to now / but it is the weight that has become the problem.
I think what HELENT & 51 MERC-CT suggested is what I am looking for.

THANKS GUYS :)
