My '40 has a hot water heater.
I live in Michigan, can't really enjoy your ride in the spring or the fall without one.

Re: Heaters?

I've had experience on seven late 30 flatheads. 5 had hot water heaters(two are Ford Script), one has an exhaust heater, one has a Southwind gasoline.

These were all originally in cold weather states: Ohio, Colorado, Nebraska, Wyoming.

I've found it's hard to find fan parts for the Ford Script heaters, and hard to find heat exchangers for the exhaust heaters, if that's a factor for you.

Since they were mostly aftermarket or dealer installed, be hard to find numbers....

The 39 Ford C91 will be getting a Tropic Air added for those fine late fall foliage tours.

Re: Heaters?

Given my location it will come as no surprise that my 39 Deluxe had a heater installed. It is a B.F.Goodrich connected up to the cooling system by hoses. One to the lower right radiator hose and the other to the top of the right head. I removed it years ago for reasons I can't recall but still have it. The stick on glass, later plastic, "frost shields" were standard equipment on cars here in winter. The weak heaters needed a little help in our cold weather.

My '52 has a very good stock heater, and since I drive my car every weekend it gets a real work out here.

Re: Heaters?

The pickup has a good working Southwind heater. The stock unit in the '53 Courier provides plenty of heat. I have electric seat heaters in the hot rod for the cooler days.

Have a hot water heater/defroster in my 51 Meteor and a hot water heater in my 32 roadster hot rod. Both are old swap meet 6Volt units. Run a resister, both cars converted to 12v

39 Deluxe has a Ford hot water heater. Went to a lot of trouble and expense to buy and restore it but it works great.

49 F-1 has what I thought was a factory hot water heater but some say it is a Firestone item.

49 Mercury has factory fresh air heater.

I drive these cars year around if the streets free from salt and I really appreciate the heaters

Model A has a manifold heater which is much better than none, and works best on a hot day.

Merry Christmas to all!
