- I was obviously satisfied with having a great conversation about sports. Unfortunately, my good buddy had too much to drink on that particular day, and as his words floated in and out of my ear, I grew tired and even began to look around the venue in frustration.That was my first time being a part of something that wasn't centered around my family. It was an amazing experience. However, this experience is not where it stops. There was so much more that was in store for me. One day, I realized I needed to get out of my comfort zone and start realizing my dream of making the United States Olympic Team. So, I dropped everything and became a professional draftee. For two months, I competed in Portland, Ore. A city that would be really hard to forget.
