Door soft parts for a 39 truck. Update they don’t fit
I am getting ready to redo the doors for my truck. I need to buy the rubbers and seals and what ever to finish out the doors. I want to try and get it in 1 lot not a piece from here and a piece from there. I have been looking at the online suppliers and some have kits and some I need to pick pieces off there inventory and add to cart. I really don’t know all what I need and some of the items are different on different sites. So I am looking for guidance and wisdom on what to get. Will the pickup stuff work with a truck?
Update: see post 7

Re: Door soft parts for a 39 truck
The truck cab is the same as a pickup, so the rubber items will work on either body.

Re: Door soft parts for a 39 truck
I wish that was true. I have learned that not everything that fits a pickup will fit a truck. I posted here in the hopes that someone with a truck has a source for the parts.
Things I know are different Firewall Entire Floor Entire back of cab Roof Back window Things I know are the same Windshield frame and associated parts Things I am about to find out Doors-I already know the glass is different

Re: Door soft parts for a 39 truck
Dennis Carpenter had a variety of NOS door window parts for the 38 and 39 commercial vehicles and trucks in their NOS department. You can try them. I do not know what they have available aftermarket. Good luck with your project.

The parts that go in the bottom of the door are correct. I had to drill out the tube nuts on the window frames so now I am searching for replacement screws so I can take my frames and get glass cut and installed. Some one had fun breaking every window before I got it. Edit to add: I found ford used a 6-32 tube nut on the model A and that looks like what I need and the threads are the correct size

Re: Door soft parts for a 39 truck
Update: I ended up trying to use the vintique kit but it’s disappointing. The felt rattle strips that clip onto the door at either side of the window opening are too thick. I have metal frames on the windows if it was only glass the strips would fit but with the frames there is no room for the fat felt (rubber and metal) strips. What other options do I have?
