Re: california travel
Sorry, I can't help with the car shows. Do not draw conclusions that Los Angles is representative of the rest of the USA.

Re: california travel
Good point about LA. But it is close to the Peterson Museum, and the NHRA Museum in Pomona. They do have swap meets and shows there at certain times. Not familiar with the schedule. I trust you find it hot enough for you.

Re: california travel
Yosemite national park is a must see and is only a short drive from San Francisco. The back side has some giant sequoia trees and spectacular views. Better that the valley in my opinion.

Re: california travel
There are more wonderful places to see in California than you can see in one trip. It depends upon where you are going.

Re: california travel
My son and his family recently visited California on vacation. He is an engineer by vocation but enjoys photography. He took several pictures at the Petersen and they represent the broad variety of automobiles represented.

Re: california travel
Yes, lots to see in California but be careful in Hollywood and Sunset Strip, not the safest places.

Re: california travel
I recently went on a SE Asia trip, Hong Kong, Vietnam, Cambodia, Thailand and back thru France. Try the following!
Las Vegas https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attracti...as_Nevada.html http://parks.nv.gov/parks/valley-of-fire-state-park/ http://www.usbr.gov/lc/hooverdam/ https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attracti...alifornia.html https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaura...alifornia.html Los Angeles https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attracti...alifornia.html https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaura...alifornia.html http://petersen.org/visit?gclid=Cj0K...j_0aAr8W8P8HAQ http://golosangeles.about.com/od/thi...ar-Culture.htm El Toritos in Marina Del Rey and Gladstones for Fish at the end of Sunset Blvd and PCH San Francisco https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attracti...alifornia.html https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaura...alifornia.html Take the ferry from the ferry bldg. to Sausalito and try any of the local restaurants. Also the Cable Car and Lombard St., Fishermans Wharf https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_o...cisco_Bay_Area https://www.tripadvisor.com/Attracti...alifornia.html https://www.tripadvisor.com/Restaura...alifornia.html As a side note, I went from SFO to Montery, down the PCH, Pacific Coast Highway, to Hearst Castle, across the state to Sequoia Nat'l Park, north to Yosemite, across the mountains to Virginia City, Reno, back west to Lake Tahoe and then back to SFO. In Huntington Beach every Sat at a donut shop on Adams and Magnolia there are about 150 or so cars that go through from sun rise until about 7 A.M.
