Sorry, I can't help with the car shows. Do not draw conclusions that Los Angles is representative of the rest of the USA.

Good point about LA. But it is close to the Peterson Museum, and the NHRA Museum in Pomona. They do have swap meets and shows there at certain times. Not familiar with the schedule. I trust you find it hot enough for you.

I can't help with the car shows - don't live in LA anymore, but you might want to spend an evening out in Hermosa Beach. Head right down to the Hermosa Pier area - you'll have a blast!

Yosemite national park is a must see and is only a short drive from San Francisco. The back side has some giant sequoia trees and spectacular views. Better that the valley in my opinion.

+1 for visiting the Petersen Museum while you're in LA.

He's right. It would seem that the rest of the world is drawn here by the weather, among other things.

There are more wonderful places to see in California than you can see in one trip. It depends upon where you are going.

My son and his family recently visited California on vacation. He is an engineer by vocation but enjoys photography. He took several pictures at the Petersen and they represent the broad variety of automobiles represented.

Yes I would suggest not just the weather if you believe Huey Lewis...

Yes, lots to see in California but be careful in Hollywood and Sunset Strip, not the safest places.

In Huntington Beach every Sat at a donut shop on Adams and Magnolia there are about 150 or so cars that go through from sun rise until about 7 A.M.
