First question is "why the external oil line to the timing gear?

Having said that, put an 1/8" pipe "T" in the line right at where it exits the block. One side of the "T" can go for your oil line, the other side to your pressure gauge. Should be able to get whatever brass pipe fittings at your local hardware stores, plumbing & heating, hydraulic suppliers.

Can't find a tee with 3/16" one end and 1/8" other ..two different sizes of pipe involved here ..guess I did not make that clear in first post...oil gauge is 1/8" from supplier while existing external line 3/16"

OK, so the hole in the block is 1/8" NPT. Get a "T" that is 1/8" NPT like the one pictured below, screw it into the block. On one leg of the new "T", screw in your oil line. On the other leg of the new "T" screw in your gauge line.

I would remove and plug the hole at the timing gear and then add the oil gauge where the line was at the block. The gears get oiled from the valve chamber anyway.

I'd pull the valve chamber cover first before thinking about doing this to see how the builder plumbed the oil delivery.

I would also remove the line to the timing gears, however I would still connect the oil pressure gauge. I have my oil pressure gauge connected to my stock A motor and when the oil is cold in cool mornings I am able to see up to 4 lbs. pressure even though it reduces to almost zero when it warms up. At least it would give me a heads up if It read zero on cold mornings, to at least check the dipstick.
