Re: This one will make you laugh!!
I've seen that one before. Actually not badly done if that is one's style... I think it would make a nice driver in New Orleans.

Re: This one will make you laugh!!
Glad you listed this...Confirms that antique cars should be restored as the originally were,
Unless this was made for the circus. PS I will never put white walls on my car..too flashy. I went to the Liberace museum in Vegas 5 years ago and as Liberace's stuff was decaying away. Seems all his stuff was just cheap fluff. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HbuWtNq2Bxc |

Re: This one will make you laugh!!
I know this car has likely been discussed a half-dozen times but I seem to recall it was rebuilt to be used in weddings. There was also a Phaeton that shared similar attributes.

Re: This one will make you laugh!!
That's what I was thinking, and it makes sense in a (imo) cheesy commercial sense for such a venue. Personally I'd rather have something authentic (as in correct) looking than this if I was going to rent a getaway vehicle. I also recall someone who was working on a slant window fordor to do weddings and he was planning on a white paint job and wanted to put a visor on a slant window. Each to his own but it just doesn't appeal to my eyes or look right.

Re: This one will make you laugh!!
I seen this car a few years back and talked to the owner. It was for sale at a classic car sales in Wake Forest NC. At the time he wanted 50,000 not my style.

Re: This one will make you laugh!!
Yeah they have been trying to sell this one for a few years now. As Brent said, the owner used it for Weddings to drive the bride and groom.

"Price: $59,500 negotiable"
Hey, maybe he'd take $2,500.00 - Could salvage the gold and use that money for a new paint job! |

It would be a beautiful car if the gold was chrome.

Re: This one will make you laugh!!
Quote:
Back in the last century when I was young my friend and neighbor Chris Rowland was also a car nut and a car flipper. He always had interesting cars in his driveway. At this time he had a 1936 Rolls Royce town car (bought for $6000 back then!) that he was using to transport his two great danes. He and his girl friend Linda would sit up front in the drivers section and the dogs would stay in the back behind the partition. After a day of car hunting I was invited to dinner. After dinner we were having some wine and talking about Chris and Linda's upcoming wedding that weekend. Linda had expressed that the Rolls would be a great wedding car, if only it were white not black. Chris had bought the materials, but never got around to the project. Well, with every glass of wine the transformation seem more and more doable. I can't share the details because frankly I don't remember any! But that black 1936 Rolls Royce town car was a white 1936 Rolls Royce town car by sunrise!!! I thought it looked better black, but to paraphrase the old saying, "A happy new wife, makes for a happy new life"! |
