Default Just for grins: Model A photos

One of my hobbies is photography. Antique cars make great photo subjects. Yesterday I took several pix of my just-completed restoration, a 1930 Town Sedan (a.k.a. Texas Red).

Attached for your viewing amusement are a few of the images.

Happy Motoring!
Texas Tom

Yes, I did the woodgraining. Used materials obtained from Grain-It Technologies (http://www.woodgraining.com/). I've never tried woodgraining before, and found their system to be very easy. Cost only about $350 or so. I'm now pondering doing it to my '36 Ford Deluxe Touring Sedan.

That woodgrain came out beautiful, expecially for a first time. Some day I'll have to give it a try.

I like it!! Is Texas Red a color I can get at the auto paint store or this a name you put on it yourself. I need to paint Jellybean some time in the near future and that looks a lot like what it was years ago.

Thanks for pics, I bought some free standing vases the same shape as yours from last week swap meet and was wondering how I was going to mount them on the wall in my slide on camper .

The bases unscrew, so I can make a band around to hang them like yours .

Gold Digger:

The paint is "San Marino Red" (base/clear) and is used on modern Honda cars. It's almost a dead match for "Rubellite Red" as shown in the Model A Paint & Finish Guide.

Tom, many thanks for your post, photos and link to Grain-It. Just got off the phone with them, I ordered the kit. My work won't match yours, but it will be fun dressing up my sedan.

As you requested, here are a few photos of my '36 Deluxe Touring Sedan (a.k.a. Eleanor, named for the then-First Lady).

Hey Michel Welcome!

You have a beautiful car. It looks brand new to me. Did you restore it, buy it or get it from someone who bought it new.

Thanks for the photos.

agreed! great shots and i hope to get mine photo worthy someday!

id like to return my truck to this exact spot (granted the trees arent overgrown already) and get an updated picture of it. Had to hacksaw a 6" diameter tree out from the bed before it could be moved...

i think of this place as its nest and its waiting to be restored shes been drug out for several years and stored inside just waiting for the open road again

was kinda eery trailering it back knowing this is the first time in 60+ years its ever been probably on asphalt and off the farm property. also the first time in its 84 years of existence the AA has ever gone 60 mph
