Many years ago, 1960, a friend and I bought an old 1936 17 foot speedboat with a badly cracked flathead engine. We bought a 53 Ford junk car and installed it's engine in place of the 36 engine, using the old water cooled exhaust manifolds and Little Joe's reverse gear. Everything fit like a glove. We skied with that boat for years and it ran flawlessly. The flathead made a great boat engine. A lot of boats have passed by since then but I remember it fondly, along with all the girls it attracted.

Interesting! Gauge panel and distributor are postwar, but the plaque certainly looks older than that. This may be a unit that got a new engine and some modifications after the war. A picture of the back of the block would help date it.

Just one of many flatheads that were used in Marine application.
Gauge panel looks prewar to me as most of the post war marine gauges went to round. (Just my opinion.)
One of my favorite boats was a 16' no name mahogany 2 seater that ran a hopped up V-8 60.

The gauges look like stock 47-48 Ford passenger car to me.

I still have a V8 60 that came out of a boat in about 1962. It looks like a spider web
With all the piping attached. The gear shifter has at least 4 bends in it. Charlie

Converting 600 € to dollars is about $825. Great price, unless there is damage described in french that I can't read.
