Glass channel installation
Guys,
The glass channels in my '30 Tudor were non-existent when I acquired it, so I'm not 100% positive that I know where I should use foam or if there is another material that is supposed to go in the bottom glass channel. I saw where some guys said use u channel foam so the glass seals against the outside window frame, but I'm not sure I follow exactly what you mean. Does the illustration below show the best use of foam and glue? |

Re: Glass channel installation
Give Steve at Berts a call. They have everything you need. On my '28, it was actual U-shaped window channel that went in there.

Re: Glass channel installation
I believe that the bottom "foam" does not exist. There is glass bedding with adhesive that holds into the metal frame channel- IMO. At least that is what my fordor now has! There are bumpers at the bottom stop the glass from dropping down further.

also 3m sells a 2 part epoxy style channel bonder but you need a special dual piston gun to apply it unless you cut open the tube and manually mix the two together |
