Default Axle Housing Swap on Banjo Rearend

Could you nice folks offer me some advice? I have a '29 A which i'm making into a low-slung speedster. It has the stock banger motor and stock banjo rearend. I'm wanting to lower the rear about 6 inches and want to minimize the amount of intrusion of the cross member into the rear deck. ...so I have a pair of what i believe to be '32 axle housings to help with the lowering job. The spring perches on the '32 housings will get me about 2-1/2 of those 6 inches of drop. My concern is that when i measured the '29 rear (backing plate to backing plate) and the then-assembled '32 rear, the '29 was about 1/4 inch wider. My question is this: when i swap out the axle housings, am i going to have clearance issues between the axles and housings? I really don't know Jack about how these rearends are set up, but i see things like different thickness gaskets (on snyder's) used for shimming purposes that worry me. Can anyone help??
Respectfully Submitted.

We have been asked by the owner of this website to NOT discuss these type subjects as they do not pertain to restoration or stock Model-A's, ...but instead to use his HAMB forum as it relates more to the type vehicle you are wanting to build. In the interim, if you want to contact me offline, send me a PM or an e-mail and I will share my experiences on this. Best wishes on your project and I trust you understand.

You will need matching '32 axles to go with the '32 housings as they are slightly wider than the Model A.

That's cool. If you guys only want to talk about pure restorations, I will respect your wishes.
Thanks,
