Are 1940 and 1941 choke and throttle linkages the same?

Hey guys, new to the forum here.

I have a 1941 Ford Deluxe that was passed down in the family, and when I got it, the choke and throttle linkages never came with the car.

My question is are 1940 and 1941 passenger choke and throttle linkages the same? Can I just put 1940 linkages in my car?

To my knowledge no. 41-48 are not being reproduced either and difficult but not impossible to find. The rubber joint is available from most of the venders.

I bet it would be possible to modify the 1940 choke and throttle rods so they fit a 1941 car. It may take some cutting, bending and welding.

You didn’t say what part of the country your in, but between eBay and swap meets I’ve try to collect parts that are not reproduced anymore.

Making a correction to my original post, I have half of the throttle and choke linkages for the car, but what I meant to say in my original post was that they weren't installed.

The problem is that I only have the dash side of the linkages, I don't have the pieces that connect to the carburetor. Like what 1942deluxe said, they don't reproduce these anymore, but I can find the rubber joint.

I was reading in some other forums that maybe I can take the 1940 rods from the carburetor and connect them to the cables I already have? I found the rods on Obsolete and Classic Auto Parts for a 1940 car. Like 19Fordy was saying, just may take some cutting and welding.

When it comes to the dash side of the linkage, is the choke cable longer or the throttle?

I live in central valley, California. I have been searching on eBay but I only found a choke cable for a 1941 car. I already have that, so I don't really need it. I just need the rods from the carburetor.

ZAce26, the portion where the rubber joints are should be pretty even coming out of the firewall including the joints. The rod to the choke on the carburetor is approximately 6 1/4 inches and the rod from the joint to the throttle roughly 8 inches. I have an extra choke rod but not the throttle. I'll try to get you a picture in a few....
