Default What is the correct size bolt for "35 engine pan

The rebuilder of my 1935 engine used 1" long bolts on the engine oil pan. They bottomed out before they were fully tight and I have been chasing oil leaks for a couple of years before figuring out what the cause was. Should they be 3/4 inch 5/16x16 tpi or what? Are there any sources of the correct non marked bolts? Thanks for your help. Jim in San Jose

5/16-18 x 3/4" except for one 5/16-18 x 1" bolt at the rear where the threades are in the pan, not in the cylinder block.

Thats a shame that the rebuilder was not sharp enough to use the original ford bolts.
They have a thicker head, and are of better quality steel than what you can buy today

You can get a kit of the proper bolts from Third Gen Auto in Tenn check their web site.

Try Michael at Third Gen for the correct bolts both in finish and length

I found a longer bolt installed where the starter bracket is, makes sense to me.
