Re: What a waste of good thirties Ford bodies.
I went up to the office and told them and I showed them where he was. They said they find them like that before. Then they chewed my butt out, and said I should let them know when I was in there. I also found a Bull's Eye Pocket Watch and it did not work. I took it to the Watch shop and he oiled it and it started to work. miss those days. I don't remember any 32 Fords back them.

Re: What a waste of good thirties Ford bodies.
I had an especially happy childhood, as I could get off the school bus at the town dump to do some shopping on the way home. They burned it once a week or so, so you had to keep up on what was in stock. Kids today are really missin out on the good life

1934 Ford Phaeton in a local Wrecking yard in the Seventies. This body was actually saved and exported to the USA. |

Coopman where did you pull that photo from? That is in New Zealand going by the number (license) plates on those cars.

Re: What a waste of good thirties Ford bodies.
XA Falcons have gone through the roof in NZ. People are asking 40 to 70 thousand dollars for ridgy didgy sedans, that is just bog standard saloons from 200 six, 250 six to v8 Fairmonts. Wish I still had my Aussie assembled copper bronze, vinyl roof bench seat, column auto, non power steering, 302C Falcon 500...who would have thought.

USA Wrecking Yard in the Sixties. Notice the 1935 Ford Cabriolet next to a 1940 Ford Deluxe Coupe in the centre of the picture. |

Every one of them on the pile or turned into clown cars make mine a bit more rare.

Re: What a waste of good thirties Ford bodies.
So whats new ? The hot rodders are still buggering up nice old original / restored 30s cars just to get the steel bodies for their bloody hot rods. Too much money and not enough brains. JMO. Regards, Kevin.

Re: What a waste of good thirties Ford bodies.
Watching mecum kissimmee auction. Restomods outpaced originals. Always will. It's a mind set. I want a "classic car", but it can't be like it was, I want it to be modern like my new car. Not to often you see a 32 with fenders.

Re: What a waste of good thirties Ford bodies.
What could be more out of date than a ten year old "Resto-Mod"?
The sellers know this, the buyers, obviously not. |

Re: What a waste of good thirties Ford bodies.
We live in Hoover Beach.
That photo was taken early on a Spring morning about 6 yrs ago. I look over and saw a line of cars parading down Rt5, 5min later a couple in an E Jag rolled up. Turns out it was a Car Club from Germany on a Trans America Tour...The Culture in universal. Bob 🇺🇸 https://imgur.com/f2a3kav
