Re: Stock Duece Coupe
That is a nice looking sedan! My first old Ford was a 34 four door deluxe sedan - was a very original car except for the 59AB in it. It had an old mohair interior . . . kind of smelled like a "wet cat" most of the year! LOL

In my files somewhere I have a picture of the car just after the crash. It was so badly wrecked that it is hardly recognizable. The car ran an Olds "Rocket" back in those days. |

Thanks for the added info! Gotta bring a flathead into the picture. One night a guy from down in southern Iowa somewhere showed up with a real trick rig. It had a Model A sedan body (which flipped up like funny cars did later) on a tube chassis with coil over suspension and an Olds engine. The local guys mostly used '48 and prior Fords with stock type suspension. Anyway, in the 'B' feature this hot dog and a local guy running a flathead were running 1st and 2nd. Lap after lap the flathead with buggy suspension came out of every turn in 1st. The Model A with Olds power would pass about 3/4 way down the straightaways only to get passed in the turns every time. Since the finish line was at half track it was clear who would win. So last turn, last lap the Olds guy got passed so he spun the flathead out and took the win. We in the audience were booing like mad! Well, track officials disqualified the Olds guy and the local guy declared the winner. Wish I could remember who it was. Anyway, Mr. Olds never came back. |

There's quite a collection of NICE 32's right up there in Minnesota. We got a tour a couple years ago, and I can say the cars are amazing! Mostly 100 pt restorations, but many unrestored examples that are unbelievably clean. And his collection of extras and memorabilia is huge too. A super nice guy to top it all off. |

I do remember that Tudor sedan at the 2013 Grand National Meet in Lake Tahoe. Very nice car and a super meet. I had the privilege and pleasure to show Ed Warnock's flawless '32 roadster pickup.

My comments about mohair were really tied back to my 34 Ford . . . just never really liked pretty much any cloth interior (though many look nice) - they are much harder to keep clean and/or clean if you spill something, have always preferred leather. |
