Already mentioned, but don't miss the Pate Swap Meet. It is about 120 miles from Mineola, but is the third largest in the country, behind Hershey and Carlisle. I'm about 45 miles east of Mineola and have made it every year since 1985. Let me know if I can answer any questions. Website:

Thanks hardlyrider , I will ck out that web site. question will be, will I be able to get from the parking lot to the swap area after the ride from Mineola. with my bad back it is a crap shoot how I feel from day to day, especially after riding any distance in a vehicle. maybe while I am down there I may get a chance to meet you. I like going to the crawfish stand in Big Sandy for shrimp, it is the best.----Jim

Sounds like you know a little about the area. I'm a little new to the site and don't know the history on anyone. That is a good place to eat, and if you've not been, you should check out AJ's Fishhouse north of Alba on Lake Fork. Not far from Mineola and you can make yourself sick. Parking is actually fairly close for the Pate Meet. They also rent scooters. Let me know when you're in Texas.
