Default Turn signal harness retainer

What do you guys use to fasten the turn signal harness to the steering column? I would like to avoid tape or zip-ties. Maybe something that looks period correct.

Some of the old signal switches I have salvaged came with a spring clip that snapped over the column and had a raised loop that held the wires to the column. Don't have any left now, even as a sample to take a picture. Probably never find any anyway.

What I plan to use on my current project is one of those aluminum or brass tie wraps where you stick the end thru the slot and bend over, should be able to pre-form a loop where it goes over the wires. Think it will better than a common zip tie.

Forget period correct. Cars didn't have turn signals till about 1940.
I used a complete 1956 Ford pickup steering including the column. It has self cancelling turn signals built in.
For the clips to hold the harness to the column, I used black steel banding as used to band shipping boxes. It is very springy but not so much that it can not be formed by hand. My clips look exactly like those used on many cars in those days.

I run the wires in an old style fiber loom, then use zip ties and cover those ties with the old style friction tape.
