Re: Door alignment problem on 29 CCPU

I agree that hinge adjustments will likely get you closer to the solution, we cannot say for sure until it’s on the frame and adjusted. Shimming and bolting onto the frame account for a decent...

Re: Another carb needs repair

As is typically the case, we respond with missing info. I don’t use Tillotson carbs, so my comments apply to the factory issued Zenith carbs.

Re: Another carb needs repair

Those threads are for compression fittings. I’m not sure heli coils are made for a compression fitting to properly work. I don’t think time serts are made for that application either.

I’d look...

Re: Squeal that I can’t pinpoint

I think most of the comments are looking at this incorrectly. The OP describes it as a belt like squeal that goes away when the clutch is pressed. The throw out bearing spins when the clutch is...

Re: Eaton gas cap, original or aftermarket?

The direct answer, which is helpful in future searches of the forum:

The picture shows an original Eaton gas cap. This is because of the vent holes and a side profile would show a height of about...

Re: sign of the times

If you look, just about all new semi’s and other heavy duty trucks are automatics. Most on the road today are automatic. Some manufacturers like Kenworth, don’t even offer manual transmissions. I...

Re: sign of the times

I’m sure most people on here also complained when the rotary phone went away, flip phones were replaced by iPhones and so on.

How many on here have driven and know how to operate a PDK style...

Re: Fuse size

This is the true answer. You can estimate draw and load, but at the end of the day a shorted (grounded) wire will carry the supply load at a max load since the ground can handle it.

Go with 30...

Re: Shipping NOS axles

Stolen goods, usually cars and other large items that take a container to conceal and remove. It's quite common.

Re: Jazz Age '28 Sport Coupe on Hemmings Auction

So if someone offered you $50k or twice it's value for your car, you'd turn it down?

The seller, or person that funded the restoration lost money on this deal. No money was made on the...
