I’m looking for a audio/video to install a new fabric top. Does anyone have information on this task ?

Re: Sport Coupe Fabric Top
"How to Restore Your Model A", Vol. 5, has a very detailed article on the Sport Coupe top. This is for the correct, original style top with a headliner and cardboard liners. The book is available from MAFCA. The article was originally published in The Restorer, but I don't know what year and month.
Most people install a much simpler, roadster-style top on the Sport Coupe. (That's what I have on mine.) The original style top is complicated and difficult. But if you ever see one correctly done, you will appreciate how the Sport Coupe originally looked. I know you asked about a video and not written instruction. Sorry, I just had to chime in anyway. W. I guess he's waiting for someone to make a video. This is around the 3rd time he has asked this same question hoping to get a different result.

We had one installed years back on our 1929 by Don’s in Cortland, New York. He was know for quality restoration interiors and tops. Just guessing. Today I wouldn’t be surprised to pay over $4,000.00 maybe more to get a correct one. Makes a big difference. At shows, the top gets all the comments. Enjoy. |
