You are traveling down an abandoned air strip in your 30 model A 2 door at the speed of light and you turn on the headlights, what happens?

...you have problems stopping your A with its tiny brakes due to the increased mass?

I think you need more/better to ponder
But likely so do I as I’m posting!
No light comes on as you are same speed as light rays casting forward. Assuming the car hasn’t blown apart already
Oh time for my meds and nap….how about u?

Wouldn't the lights come on but not cast outward?

Big difference between the Model T and the Model A there. The Model T was designed before the introduction of the Einsteinian physics. Therefore the Model T follows Newtons laws, whereas the Model A has to follow Einsteins laws. So, the Model T can accelerate faster than the speed of light...

The light would gather up in the buckets until they were full then spill over and burn your knees.

You, as the driver in the car, see the lights come on, and illuminate things in front of you. An observer on the airstrip doesn't see the lights come on, or any illumination.

A take on a Stephen Wright routine.

Sort of like his "I named my dog 'Stay'."

Very droll very deadpan humor.

Very funny - in an intellectual sort of way.

According Einsteins theory of relativity the speed of light is constant in any inertial system. So the driver will see the light travel at the speed of light, so will any observer on the airstrip.

Is it something we can intuitively understand or relate to? No! But our experience may also be misleading us here - afterall, how many of us have traveled at anything resembling the speed of light?

Perhaps Elon Musk could try it out with his orbiting Tesla?
