Clutch finger Adjustment
I am having a problem adjusting the fingers on a new clutch. I have made
a nice tool for the proper height of the finger the problem after adjusting and it is nuts on I go to stake and it all moves. I guess I am not a staker.. By the way I am using locktite..Would using nylock nuts be ok? It seems that would be the answer verses stake.. Any help would be Great.: |

Re: Clutch finger Adjustment
I've not used them, but, I think the nylocks are a good idea.

Re: Clutch finger Adjustment
Pressure plate gets pretty hot. Nylocks might be risky. Developing a staking technique would be the safest.

Re: Clutch finger Adjustment
I believe the nylock will take up to 250 degrees. Wonder if the pressure plater gets
to that level. Of course it is something to consider .. |

Re: Clutch finger Adjustment
I wouldn't think that plate could get warm enough to boil water.

that Tom Wesenberg said he used locknuts so the light went on! Not sure If he used nylocks but said locknuts. So I found some today and they are MM which that tells me this pressure plate is from afar.. Which is ok as long it works.. I am lucky no body on the chassis so easy Peasy to remove motor and make the install and fresh up the paint. Thanks for the response from you fella's |

Re: Clutch finger Adjustment
I used locknuts and staked them once I was happy with the adjustment as there was very little thread engagement on the plastic part. I ended up with a .625" finger adjustment
