Cutout info.....
......related to a thread I had earlier wondering how to tell off hand, a repop from an original. Someone said that 'the originals for one thing are heavier you can tell by holding them in your hand.'
I took an original that I bought from Bert's and weighed it on a digital scale. It did seem heavier. The original weighed in at 198 grams. Three repops I weighed came in at 171 grams, 172 grams, and the third at 172 grams, Just for your I&E I thought that was some good advice. Thanks much! And thanks to Steve Becker at Bert's for setting me up with some other fine original parts!! |

Re: Cutout info.....
Just about 30 minutes ago I weighed an original 1932 style cutout with the closed mounting feet, and it weighed exactly 8 ounces.
I don't have a cheap repro handy to measure, but would guess it's closer to 5 ounces. |

Re: Cutout info.....
198 grams = 7 oz
171 grams = 6 oz So there is a difference that can be measured easily.
