59a oil pump capacity.
I have pulled apart a 59a engine to control everything and replace a few parts.
Story on the engine is that it was NOS up until 1989, put into a 1939 pu and driven very little for about 10 years before i bought it and forgot about it for 20 years. As expected everything is std size and looks great. The original oil pump, it looks as good as everything else and made good 15psi at hot idle, i have absolutely no reason to doubt it, and compared to the 30 others i have in the loft it looks new. Will a good condition stock oil pump be enough for additional oiling like what is required for a McCulloch or OHV heads? Thanks. |

Well, McCulloch superchargers were popular back in the '30's and '40's so the original oil pumps worked then. Should work now. |
