I don't think they ever made a convertible lid. If they exist, Carpenter might have added it. For those that don't know, they are VERY different then a coupe, not just a shorter lid, curvature and dimensions are also different too. Not a good sign that you are looking for a better one.
Good luck.

Nope, not a good sign at all. Mine has been beat, cut, welded, etc. The term "tortured" comes to mind.
I'd have to remove the inner structure, repair the outer sheet metal (straighten, shrink, cut, weld...), then repair the inner structure (straighten, weld...) and put it all back together.
I can do it - I just don't want to.

Awe....C'mon Man! That ain't in the spirit of what your 'profile' says, and I quote:

"I have found that I enjoy the process more than driving them later."

It's challenges just like this that differentiate the very few, truly honorable CRAFTSMEN that we have left.....from the "every-day" Bondo-slingin' perverts that ain't qualified to lick their lips! So.....c'mon Man! We need 'before and after' pictures, too! DD

Well, I have to admit, that came back to haunt me. I need to update my profile

On a perhaps more serious note, this lid will take a minimum of sixty hours to prepare. That's close to $5k shop time.
New lid is about $1400 to my door. No doubt it'll take some tweaking to fit as well as I desire. But still, I'm having a difficult time making sense out of the crunched numbers.

Now... how to change my profile...

Mike I ordered one on my dealer account for a customer, and had it drop shipped. Never heard back good or bad, but I'd imagine if the fitment was terrible he would have informed me.

Thanks Mike, I ordered one today. Fingers crossed. I expect it'll be of similar quality as the floor pans, etc. In other words "okay" but may require a bit of work to get it where I want.
I'm okay with that

Wow, I haven't had to look for 40 parts now that my coupe is done and my convertible is gone. I didn't know DC had the convert lid made too. I don't remember B.O.B. listing that when he had the project. But I AM 70 so I have an excuse. (Back Order Bob)
$1400 is a bargain even if it needs some tweaking. I have done plenty of "heat'n and beat'n and know what you are up against. I fixed a 34 sedan delivery that looked like it was hit by a train, really. Will send you a pic when I run across it.
