Default Brake Switch Tee

I want to install a pressure operated brake switch.
My system has 1/4” lines, the switch has a 1/8” np thread.
I’m not finding a tee for 1/4 inverted flare w-1/8” port.

Someone else must have crossed this bridge before.

Thanks!

Perhaps use a 7/16 24 plug for the inverted flare and install a 1/8 NPT thread in it.

The brake lite switch screws into the back of the 91A-2077 master cylinder outlet fitting banjo bolt which holds the 99A- 2076 Tee

brian has it right. the trouble with a hydl. switch is the car is slowed down a lot before it lights the lights . if you install a lever switch the lights light a lot sooner giving the car behind you more warning . p.s there ez to install

I replace all my Ford pressure brake light switches with homemade brackets and run a GM brake light switch off the brake pedal rod …adjustable ,immediate ,and works with DOT 5 silicone where the pressure switches won’t. Just did my 56 Ford F100 today as a matter of fact.

You can use an inline tee with 1/8"NPT on all branches. Get adapters for 1/4" brake tubing; 7/16-24 inverted flare brake, IFF to 1/8"NPT.

A picture would sure help this rookie modify his 1939 Ford! Thanks

Here ya go! Picture this mounted on the BOTTOM side of the driver side wooden floor board. That is the brake pedal you see running vertically in picture, which allows switch arm to be activated. DD

The switch in my picture has an adjustable arm, as in the picture below. They are available at many auto parts stores, or at this eBay link BELOW!

I actually like the switch shown BELOW! They come in LEFT handed, or RIGHT handed. Available at THIS link BELOW!

Here's a picture of a stock GM switch screwed to the wood toe board on my '35 using a '40 pedal assy.

I've run that type of switch, in just that same manner before. My F1 has a dual master on it and a "T" with a pressure switch screwed into it. Works just fine. You can't hit the pedal with any kind of pressure and not get brakes light on in the rear.....
It's 3/16 line though, with a 1/8 NPT switch.

I've not seen any "T" unions in 1/4 with anything other than 1/4 inverted flare at ALL the connections.

Still, none of the mfg. catalogs I perused showed this tee but I did I find a fella selling what is presumably old shop stock on eBay.
