Default This can't be legit?

Can it? It's a '35 Tudor with a claimed 2,563 original miles on the clock. It's in Ontario, Canada for 50 grand. Looks gorgeous in pictures.

It seems that at some point during its five collector car owners, it would have garnered some Concourse awards. Kind of fishy, no mention of public showings.

Just when you think you've seen the last one of these miracle survivors, another one pops up! Absolutely amazing. You couldn't restore one for $50K. Buy it!!

Legendary Motor Cars is a first class operation and do superb restoration work. I think they are in Oakville. They used to have a TV program also.
I would say this car is the "real deal."

Why are you questioning if it is legit? Are you looking at something or just think the story is too good to be true? I once had a line on a '57 T Bird with 3 miles. The owner was a single parent that had bought it as a birthday present for his 16 year old daughter. He drove it home and parked it in the garage as a surprise. She unfortunately died in a car accident on the way home from her birthday party and he left the car in the garage.

Hummm.... Green body with black fenders? I don't believe this was a legit Ford color combination in 1935. Possibly, someone along the way did some repainting. If this is the case the "original" aspect is somewhat tainted. Still, a nice looking car.

Yes. It looks so nice in the pictures it's hard to believe it's the real deal. I'm not saying it's not legit, I hope it is, but wow, it seems too good to be true. If I had an extra 50 large burning a hole in my pocket I'd definitely go check this car out!

Clem-

It is hard to tell but the write-up clearly states green w/black fenders.

Hey Tom,
Note that the ad starts off with ...original paint/color. If that can not be believed, or is not accurate...it follows that what else can be believed ?
However, would or did Ford (dealers also) give a paying customer a color combination out of ordinary...but authorized?

Very legitimate dealer who always gets the highest price known to man with each sale. Of course, the secret is to pay the absolute lowest price to the original seller. That explains the price which would normally be for a roadster! My two cents. These dealers have to make at least $20k every time they touch any car when they do absolutely nothing to the car. Just drives up the price for us little guys for the rest.

Standard model had painted grill, you can tell it is a standard by the single tail light and if you could see the speedometer it sould have a 3 diget trip indicator.

Didn't Standard models only have one windscreen wiper?

It seems like a lot of standard cars only had the one windshield wiper for the driver. My pop had a car just like that at the start of WWII but it wasn't even that nice then. When he got back from Europe after the war, he bought a 41 Super Deluxe that was in a lot better shape.

The farmers wife must have had a sealed container to put it in. Most old farm barns are drafty and have rodent problems. I speak from experience on this having grown up on a farm and never managing to keep anything that nice for even a quarter as long a time period. The bird crap alone will ruin an old paint job. I'd be skeptical for sure.

I agree on being skeptical for sure, where I live we get some winter freezes and summer temps over 3 digits...now, I say this to quantify the following...

My '57 Chevy PU had been on Jackstands since 1986 and not covered...now I did have painted in '78 or '79...so I rolled it out yesterday, ...I put 30 PSI in the tires, didn't see one split/crack (Kelly Super Charger biased ply, put no in '77 or '78) and moved it out.

Took the hose to it (didn't wash it yet, just wanted to knock the dust off) but man, I know she'll still shine up well.

This has been in a garage (all wood with shake shingle) since '86, but was recovered with modern roofing 4 or 5 years ago.

No mice/rat's chewings..etc.

Now, if it was stored in a better climate than I have, I could see it being as-original...

Although not on a farm, I live on 3 acres in the country, surrounded by farmland.

That said, I'm not versed enough to comment on paint schemes/etc or authenticity...but there are some time capsules out there

The fenders could have been painted by the dealer before it was delivered to the buyer. In those days they would do what ever it took to make the sale.
